rolickings and ramblings from a ginger goddess
Have you ever bought shoes online, dearest? I am kind of scared to. i LOVE those booties.
I'm also terrified too. It's so hard to trust sizing in Australia, yet alone get it right with products from another country. But I do want those booties...and rain-proof shoes for Brisbane walking (why are Queensland footpaths so badly designed for wetness?)
Queensland just doesn't understand weather. Central heating? What's that? Rain..?At times, I've been tempted by vintage shoes on Etsy. But when I have tried to work out if a certain shoe will fit me--and have gone looking at international conversion charts--the charts have different conversions on them!
The basic rule that I follow when converting Euro to Aust is to take the end digit and go down one, so a 38 becomes a 7/7.5. But America conversion I've never really gotten the hang of because it's never the same. And it's even worse with clothes! I wish it were easier
I have a long-standing feud with Witchery - their 37 is too small for my feet and the 38 is too big? ARGGGH!It's especially confusing when your body has changed size and shape and you truly don't know what fits you anymore. :s
That is because I think their sizes seem to havea larger gap than most. I get the feeling their 37 is a 6.5 but their 38 is closer to an 8 than a 7.5. Stupid witchery!!I completely agree. I want to be a size 10 (fairly practical, I would say) but my body prefers 14/16 :0(
*Love* those grey boots - I have been hankering after a pair like that for ages but like everyone, scared of buying online...I mean, I need to take 2 of everything into the dressing room as it is, and that's in the real world, gah!
Sasa, it's comforting to know it's not just us aussie girls suffering from sizing issues. I think we should start a size revolution ladies!
